Residents of Surprise, Arizona are about to experience a more efficient and expanded array of swim lesson options this summer. In an effort to better accommodate the community, the City of Surprise has overhauled its registration process for Summer 2025 Swim Lessons, making it simpler for families to enroll their kids in the right swim class. According to the City of Suprise's recent announcement, those interested can now sign up for sessions by location, date and time, as well as age group, without having to worry about selecting the class level upfront.
Starting Tuesday for residents and Thursday for non-residents, families can begin to easily register for the swim sessions which are set to start on May 27 and extend through July 30. The new Oasis Swim Center is set to join the lineup of facilities offering classes this year, alongside the Surprise Aquatic Center and Hollyhock Community Pool. As part of their initial lesson, all children will be evaluated by skilled instructors to ensure they are placed into an appropriate class level, aiming to completely align with Starfish Swimming benchmarks.
The City has diversified its class offerings to include Parent Tot classes, adaptive lessons, group swim lessons, a dive school, and even private swim lessons. Group lessons are specifically designed for younger participants, while private lessons are available for all ages, including adults. They've also introduced a convenience in scheduling, with 30-minute lessons happening Monday through Thursday at various times, and additional options available on Saturdays at the Surprise Aquatic Center.
Regarding pricing, the update brings both an increase in options and an attempt to ensure affordability. According to the City of Surprise announcement, group swim lessons will cost $30 for residents and $50 for non-residents; private swim lessons will set back residents $45 and non-residents $65. Full details on the summer swim lessons, registration procedures, and the class schedule are available to browse online at the City's dedicated swim lesson portal.
