Attorney General Ken Paxton has recently ignited a new legal battlefront, targeting US Masters Swimming over their trans-inclusive policies. In what's shaping up to be a contentious ordeal, Paxton's office is set to scrutinize whether the sports entity violated consumer protection laws during the 2025 Spring Nationals in San Antonio. According to a press release from the Texas Attorney General's office, the investigation will demand and examine documents to ensure US Masters Swimming did not engage in "false, deceptive, and misleading acts and practices."
Paxton, known for not hesitating to fiercely defend his vision of fairness in athletics, stated that the policy of US Masters Swimming "is reprehensible and could violate Texas’s consumer protection laws," as reported by the Attorney General's office. He continued to express that the inclusion of a male athlete in a women's event is not only "insulting to female athletes," but also "demonstrates deep contempt for women."
It’s clear that Paxton’s actions could change amateur swimming and influence legal issues about gender and sports. Paxton said in a press release, "I will fight to stop these unfair policies and never back down from defending the integrity of women’s sports," showing Texas’ strong position in this legal battle.
