Charlotte, North Carolina saw a surge of police activity in the Metro Division as detectives took charge of an investigation resulting from an assault with a deadly weapon. According to a report issued by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), the incident took place on Friday evening in the 1800 block of Stroud Park Court, where three individuals were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a call concerning the assault. Two victims were found to have life-threatening injuries, and a third sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening. All three were promptly transported to local hospitals to receive medical attention. In the aftermath, a suspect was swiftly arrested, negating the need to further search for additional perpetrators connected to this crime spree.
The CMPD's Homicide Unit detectives were joined by Crime Scene Search to process the scene and gather evidence. Additional support was provided by representatives from the Operations Command, MEDIC, and the Charlotte Fire Department (CFD). The investigation into the shootings is currently active and ongoing, with the CMPD reassuring the public that further details will be disseminated by the Public Affairs Office as they become available.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward. "Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective," the CMPD stated. Detective Lewis has been assigned as the lead on this case.
