In Gibson County Circuit Court, Judge Peeples handed down a significant sentence to one Timothy Fields II on Monday, according to a social media post by The Office of the District Attorney General, 28th Judicial District. Fields, now set to serve 12 years in the Tennessee Department of Correction, will start his term with 8 years for Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell or Deliver at a 30% release eligibility followed by an additional 4 years at 100% for Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
The conviction of Fields comes on the back of a three-day trial which concluded on March 6, the jury weighing the gravity of the charges brought before Fields who was not only dealing in narcotics but also found with a weapon used in a deadly confrontation, he was indicted on First Degree Murder initially but was acquitted for acting in self-defense.
Notably, Fields was apprehended by authorities on August 6, 2022, after the shooting of Joshua Caleb Warrington, with law enforcement finding him in possession of a substantial amount of cocaine and related drug paraphernalia indicating sales activity, including the firearm ultimately linked to Mr. Warrington's death, as reported by the Office of the District Attorney General.
The urgency and thoroughness of bringing Fields to justice were present in the commendations offered by District Attorney General Frederick H. Agee, who expressed his gratitude for the work put forth by the Trenton Police Department and the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office, with a special shout-out to Investigator Jimmy Wilson for his role in the investigation and eventual capture of Fields.
