A grave and unsettling incident in Montgomery County has detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division piecing together the circumstances behind a 2-year-old's fall from an apartment building's 15th floor.
On May 15, Fire and Rescue, along with the 3rd District officers, rushed to the scene at the 11200 block of Oak Leaf Drive in White Oak. This was after receiving reports at around 2:11 p.m. that a toddler had plummeted from a balcony. The young child against all odds was found alive, having landed in bushes below the towering structure, as detailed in a press release from the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Subsequently, the injured toddler was immediately transported to a local hospital; there, physicians ascertained that the child had sustained a broken leg, coupled with multiple internal injuries, yet, shockingly, was likely to make a full recovery. At this junction of the investigation, no one has been charged in relation to the fall, and detectives are delving into all possible contributing factors.
