Tulsa's Mayor Monroe Nichols and city officials are extending an open invitation to North Tulsa residents for a "Community Conversation" this Thursday. Touted as the last event in a series designed to foster dialogue between city leaders and communities, the North Tulsa gathering aims to give residents time to discuss various issues with department heads and staff, as shared in an announcement on the City of Tulsa's official website.

The meeting, slated for May 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Crossover Community Impact, 1010 E. 36th St. N., Tulsa, OK, 74106, will feature Mayor Nichols, City Councilors Vanessa Hall-Harper and Jackie Dutton, and City Auditor Nathan Pickard. In a statement obtained by the City of Tulsa's press room, Mayor Nichols highlighted the importance of these conversations, saying, "The future Tulsa we're building must be rooted in listening and lifting every voice, especially those who have too often gone unheard." Councilor Hall-Harper emphasized engagement as both a privilege, and a vital component in understanding community needs.

Residents will have the chance to meet with a variety of city departments including the Beyond Apology Commission, the Development Services team, and Tulsa Fire Department representatives, among others. The announcement also notes that there will be opportunities to learn about job openings within the city, get updates on public transportation, and discuss housing and homelessness issues, as reported by the City of Tulsa.

According to the City of Tulsa's press room, each department will provide insights into their respective roles and field questions regarding utility billing, job opportunities, court cases, neighborhood programming, resilience initiatives, and more. Councilor Dutton echoed the sentiment of proactive community engagement, telling the press room, "This opportunity to engage with my constituents is important, to better understand their concerns and hear their stories. Together we can make significant strides toward improving our community."
