Two individuals were taken to the hospital following an accident and a dramatic water rescue in Baltimore on Monday, as confirmed by the Baltimore Police Department. The incident, which unfolded in the 2400 block of South Hanover Street, prompted a swift response from both police and Baltimore City Fire Department officials, according to FOX Baltimore .
Despite the potential severity of the situation, officials reported that the pair sustained non-life threatening injuries - after the crash that saw one individual falling into the water from the Hanover Street Bridge, a second person dove in to execute a rescue, according to a witness the two were fishing on the bridge when a passing vehicle collided with a parked car causing quite the commotion and unfortunate chain of events that followed, WBALTV detailed.
Baltimore police revealed that the call for the crash came in around 4:12 p.m., leading officers to discover two people on the rocks beneath the bridge. After being safely pulled to land with the help of onlookers, both were transported to hospitals to undergo evaluations. The driver involved in the crash was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, as per the police report.
