An 18-year-old suspect has been arrested by the White Settlement Police Department (WSPD) and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, following a shooting incident that took place on May 10. According to a social media post from the White Settlement Police Department, the suspect, identified as Ruben Martinez III, was charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon, which is a second-degree felony.

The incident began in a quiet neighborhood on Colton Drive near Ozona Avenue, where the victim's car was found with multiple bullet holes and a shattered rear window. The victim was unharmed but reported being fired upon by a man wielding an AR-style rifle. The police subsequently discovered fourteen shell casings and one bullet on Ozona Avenue, the suspected origin of the shooting.

Detectives were able to secure security footage of the event, which, along with the victim’s account, led to the identification of the shooter. Last Wednesday, the WSPD, aided by the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office SWAT team and the Combined Enforcement Narcotics Team, apprehended Martinez after conducting surveillance activities.

Furthermore, authorities executed a search warrant at a Tacoma Drive residence, where they located the firearm believed to have been used during the shooting. Additional firearms and narcotics were also seized from the location.
