The Milwaukee Police Department has successfully located Uzziah Franklin, the 10-year-old boy who had been reported as critically missing since yesterday morning, according to a report by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The term "critically missing" is used by law enforcement to categorize individuals thought to be at a greater risk because of various underlying factors, and the prompt action following the dissemination of Franklin's information underscores the authorities' commitment to the safety of such vulnerable members of the community.
In an effort to generate leads and hasten Franklin's safe return, the Milwaukee Police Department had detailed his last known whereabouts near Holton and Meinecke at approximately 10:20 a.m. yesterday, June 15, FOX6 now reported. Standing 4'8" tall and weighing about 66 pounds, Franklin was further described as a Black youth with brown eyes and short black hair. He was last seen clothed in tan shorts, and a tan short-sleeve shirt featuring an image on the front.
Public concern grew as the search initially stretched on without result. A follow-up by local authorities indicated that at 8:14 p.m., Milwaukee Police conveyed via their update that Uzziah had been found, and was safe, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel relayed. The details of how and where the boy was found have not been released, however, this resolution serves as a poignant reminder of the effectiveness and the urgency with which the community and law enforcement can rally together when a child's wellbeing is at stake.
The entire ordeal lasted less than a day, but for a community on edge, it must have felt like an eternity. As family, friends, and even strangers, breathed a collective sigh of relief, the diligence of the Milwaukee Police Department and the assistance from the community had once again proven pivotal as reported by WISN.
