A 13-year-old boy was taken into police custody in Dorchester after crashing a stolen moped into a moving vehicle. The incident, which took place yesterday morning, resulted in no injuries, though an 11-month-old child present in the vehicle hit by the moped was evaluated by Boston EMS as a precautionary measure according to the Boston Police Department's official website.
The juvenile, whose name has not been disclosed due to his age, attempted to flee on foot after unsuccessfully trying to restart the moped following the accident which occurred near the intersection of Lyndhurst Street and Washington Street, the collision happened while the driver was turning from one street onto the other and the moped struck the vehicle's door, the police shared photographs taken during the incident aiding in the quick identification of the suspect.
