An ongoing investigation in Ardmore, Oklahoma, led by both the Ardmore Police Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, culminated this week in the arrest of two individuals tied to heinous offenses: child exploitation and sex trafficking. As reported by KFOR, a local probe by Ardmore detectives on June 3 led to the arrest of 32-year-old Antron Monroe on charges related to child sexual abuse material. Following his apprehension, the investigation revealed a connection to Ashleigh Blanton, also known as Ashleigh Ramsey, aged 30, who was allegedly negotiating with Monroe regarding the exploitation of another juvenile.
Further details came to light when law enforcement discovered that Blanton was carrying out negotiations to supply Monroe with explicit images of an 8-year-old in her care. According to a statement obtained by OKC Fox News, Mark Woodward, OBN Spokesman, detailed that Blanton had also discussed prices for physical sexual interaction with the child. Her arrest took place near Ardmore, where agents located Blanton and the child en route, promptly placing the child in protective custody with the Department of Human Services.
The collaborative effort between the Ardmore detectives and the OBN's Human Trafficking Unit has been highlighted as a critical element in the success of this operation. "We just can’t say enough about the outstanding work of the Ardmore Police Department and their detectives," Woodward told KXII, acknowledging the instrumental role the local force played in the operation. The initial investigation into Monroe by local authorities brought to light his alleged involvement in the creation or possession of child sexual abuse material.
With the two suspects now in custody, the case underlines the grim reality of child exploitation and serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of vigilance and inter-agency cooperation in battling sex trafficking and protecting the vulnerable. The charges levied against Monroe and Blanton are set to ensure that justice is pursued, with OBN agents having wound down their sordid negotiations, aiming to shield the identities and the innocence of the young from those who would treat them as commodities to be bartered.
