Since her inception into BPD back in 2006, Detective Boomer has played a substantial role in several pivotal undertakings, which includes her participation in state-level working groups focused on the reformation of public safety measures, as well as her involvement in the Domestic Abuse Fatality Review Board, the ICAC Task Force, and the advancement of trauma-informed investigation training, according to the City of Bloomington's release.
Awarded for enduring dedication, Detective Boomer has also been instrumental in policy development and peer support which are crucial aspects within the police department. She organized an event with the charitable organization Feed My Starving Children, which resulted in nearly 300 packed boxes of food, providing nourishment for 177 children over the course of a year.
