Boston is preparing for a busy month of June with a series of parades, races, and street fairs that will affect traffic and parking across the city. According to the City of Boston’s official website, events include celebrations for Pride Month, Bunker Hill Day, and multiple road races, each prompting traffic advisories and parking restrictions.

The Boston Pride Celebration kicks off on next weekend, taking over Saint James Avenue. A Pride Street Fair will also take place, with parking restrictions in effect on both sides of St. James Avenue from Berkeley Street to Arlington Street. Visitors are encouraged to use Bluebikes or the MBTA, which recommends round-trip purchases for smoother travel.

On June 22, the Boston Athletic Association will hold its annual 10K race starting at 8 a.m. The race route runs from Charles Street to Beacon Street and loops back via Boylston Street. This event will lead to early morning road closures and parking bans along key roads.

Also on June 15, Jamaica Plain will host the Boston Pride Block Party, and Roxbury will mark Bunker Hill Day with a 5K race and community events, both resulting in parking regulations in surrounding areas.

Additional South End events include the Haley House gathering on Montgomery Street tommorow, the Chandler Street Block Party, and the Pride for the People Parade next Saturday, which will include vehicles and motorcycles on Beacon Street. Spectators are advised to consider biking or walking.

The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge Road Race is set for June 18 in the West End, with about 9,000 runners expected to travel through Charles Street. Parking restrictions will be in place on adjacent streets during the event.

Residents and visitors can check the city’s website for full details on routes, restrictions, and transportation options.
