In a display of swift law enforcement, Boulder Police officers managed to subdue and apprehend a bank robbery suspect within roughly three hours last Thursday. The drama unfolded after a report was made concerning a robbery at the US Bank located at 1650 28th Street, as noted by the City of Boulder in a press release.
Diligently following leads, the officers were able to quickly locate the suspect in the vicinity of Broadway and University. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old David Lloyd Martinez, did not limit his criminal activity to the bank robbery alone. Reportedly, he engaged in an earlier assault and attempted robbery of a woman's bicycle outside the Home Depot on 28th Street. The woman was treated for her injuries at the scene and subsequently released.
Martinez is facing serious charges, including Attempted Robbery (CRS 18-2-101 (4), Class 5 felony) and Robbery (CRS 18-4-301, Class 4 felony). Boulder Police are continuing their investigation into the incident, which may lead to additional charges being filed against Martinez shortly.
