According to WCNC, the response came shortly before 11:30 p.m., this occasion marking the second fire incident in the area within a month, bringing up safety concerns and reminders from property management about the risks of open flames in the complex. In a statement obtained by WCNC, the apartment complex warned residents against the use of open flames, explicitly stating that "We know that some will still light candles, but please be careful" and emphasized that "Any type of grill on your patio, or anything related to fire, is not allowed per your lease."
Rescue efforts were prompt with MEDIC rushing both patients to receive urgent care for their injuries, the fast-acting crews managed to locate and extinguish the small fire on the balcony soon thereafter; these details were shared in a report by QCNews, which also noted that the fire department began immediate care for the burn victims upon arrival.
Community manager's communications, accessed by WCNC, highlighted the incident as "resident caused," a stark reminder of how the threads of personal responsibility weave into the broader tapestry of communal safety and again, the message reiterates a cautionary stance against the peril that comes with ignoring lease stipulations concerning grills or candles being used on apartment patios one of those small ember that if left unattended, could erupt into a blaze that not only threatens personal wellbeing but that of neighbors and friends in close proximity.
