Last Friday, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office recovered a trove of stolen items, including firearms, from a residence in West Point. This operation, executed in connection with several burglary cases in the area, led to the arrest of two suspects, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office reported.
The search warrant, served in the 1000 block of Main Street, was part of an extensive probe into thefts spanning from February through May 2025 in West Point and Mountain Ranch. In the house, detectives found and secured a variety of items confirmed to have been stolen. Notably, one of the firearms had been liberally taken in a 2015 residential burglary in Murphys. According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office Facebook post, Nicholas Harley Caspary, 36, and Tonya Elaine Rogers, 46, both of West Point, were arrested at the scene.
Caspary and Rogers are facing multiple charges, including possession of stolen property and firearms, possession of ammunition by prohibited persons, and controlled substance offenses. The pair was transported to the Calaveras County Jail for these allegations. The details of their arrest and charges were outlined in the official social media post by the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office.
The investigation is still ongoing as detectives look into whether the suspects are linked to other thefts. They’re working with the District Attorney’s Office to help return stolen property to its rightful owners.
