In an effort to strengthen community ties and promote public safety, officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's North Tryon Division recently interacted with residents during a community roll call event at Fifteen 15 Cannon.
According to the CMPD's Facebook page, the event not only served as a means for the officers to establish relationships with the residents but also provided a platform for explaining how the community can collaborate with the North Tryon officers to ensure a secure environment; the gathering reflected a proactive approach by the police in addressing community concerns and informing citizens about the ways in which they can contribute to the safety of their own neighborhoods, despite the complexity and sensitivity that often accompanies discussions of policing in American communities.
