Shelby County residents of District 11 have a series of town hall meetings to look forward to, designed to address and discuss a range of pressing community concerns. Commissioner Miska Clay Bibbs is spearheading this effort, aiming to engage the community in constructive dialogue about issues such as public safety, youth activities, and job opportunities. According to a recent announcement on Shelby County's official website, these town halls are set to take place at various local venues.
Commencing on June 11th and continuing through June 18th, the meetings promise residents insight into new developments and potential future projects, providing an open forum to voice their issues. Hosted in churches within the community, attendees, while listening to discussions, will also have the chance to learn about public services and expungement resources that may aid them.
The first meeting is scheduled for June 11 at 6:00 p.m. at One Accord Ministries, located at 4741 Winchester Road, with a follow-up session on June 18 at Limit Breaker Church, 6720 E. Raines Road, also beginning at 6:00 p.m. Each session is expected to tackle specific subjects vital to the community, including blight eradication, the availability of summer programs for young people, and boosting local safety.
