
A tragic hit-and-run incident in York County has taken the life of a bicyclist, earlier yesterday. According to WCNC, the collision occurred around 5:45 a.m. on SC-55 near North Paraham Road east of Clover. The South Carolina Highway Patrol stated that the bicyclist was struck by an as-yet unidentified vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Information regarding the make and model of the vehicle responsible for the crash remains unknown.
The victim's identity has not been officially released as of the moment, and investigators are urging anyone with any information to step forward. WBTV reports, "The collision happened around 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, along Highway 55 near Paraham Road North in Clover," where the vehicle was said to be traveling west when it fatally struck the bicyclist before driving away from the area.
In a separate report from QC News, which conflicts with initial reports about the time of the incident, the crash was reported as happening at approximately 7:09 a.m. It appeared that the victim may not have been riding the bike at the time but was walking west on the highway while pushing the bicycle when they were fatally struck.
