
The Dallas area braces for a week punctuated by rain and potential flooding, as the National Weather Service has issued a weather forecast predicting a mix of storms and sunshine with a consistent chance of showers throughout the week, the start of the week had the Trinity River at Dallas approaching Minor flooding levels, it prompted a Flood Warning for Dallas County, as per the National Weather Service.
Citizens are warned against driving through flooded areas and encouraged to remain cautious when near riverbanks. "Minor lowland flooding will begin. The pasture lands near the river will flood," as stated in the National Weather Service alert, affecting low-lying areas and recreational spaces by the riverside, especially since Dallas's local weather reports a 60% or higher chance of precipitation midweek. Potential thunderstorms Wednesday night, when showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue, also after 1 am.
In separate statements issued by the National Weather Service, White Rock Creek near White Rock Creek At Greenville Ave and Rowlett Creek near Sachse are also under a Flood Warning, with White Rock Creek anticipated to rise to a crest of 87.5 feet early Monday morning, causing moderate flooding of the ball fields at Moss Park. Rowlett Creek will see similar conditions with minor flooding expected to peak at 25.5 feet before subsiding later in the day.
As Dallas residents navigate this deluge, the intermittent periods of sunshine offer little respite, with the Dallas weather forecast projecting a partly sunny Saturday with a temperature climbing to near 91 degrees, however, the potential for storms persists along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the forecast stands as a solemn reminder that the rains may hold off, but the threat of water rising is never too far off in this time of volatile weather transitions.
