In a move aimed at consolidating its services for better accessibility, the Douglas County Health Department in Colorado has announced that it will be relocating all of its offices to a single new address. Starting Monday, July 7, the health department services, which include WIC, vital records, and environmental health, will be operating from 11045 E. Lansing Circle, Suite 300, in Meridian, according to Douglas County.
The transition to the new location is set to happen without interrupting the vital health services the county residents rely on. The department assures that there will be "no disruption to services of any kind," which encompasses vital records such as birth and death certificates and the WIC program. Beginning on the same Monday, all these divisions, including Community Health, Epidemiology, Emergency Preparedness, and Environmental Health, will be operational in the new place in Englewood.
Emphasizing the shift to digital platforms for maintaining continuity of service, the health department has noted that all WIC appointments will temporarily transition to a remote format. This arrangement will take place from Monday, July 7, through Friday, July 11. In-person appointments are scheduled to resume at the Englewood location on Monday, July 14, ensuring that clients of the WIC program face minimal disruption in services due to the move.
For county residents accustomed to visiting multiple offices for health-related services, this move represents a significant streamlining of operations. Designed to offer greater convenience, Douglas County officials hope the centralized location will improve the overall service experience for the community. As reported by Douglas County, with all services under one roof, navigating the bureaucracy tied to personal and environmental health needs should be made easier.
