The City of Euless is calling all young aspiring firefighters to join the ranks at the Junior Fire Academy this summer, a chance for children ages 11-15 to dive into the world of firefighting and emergency response from June 16 to June 20, located at the Fire Administration Building on 201 N. Ector Dr. In an offering that mixes education with hands-on excitement, participants will be engaged from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in a program designed to instill the values of teamwork, responsibility, and leadership through a series of dynamic experiences. Euless Fire Department details the activities, which include touring fire stations and mechanical behemoths known as apparatuses, hands-on fire extinguisher operation, and vital lifesaving techniques through first aid and CPR training, as per the City of Euless.

The academy is not just about the tools and the glory, but also about understanding the protocols of saving lives with planned mock search and rescue drills, learning the hose operations, which the kids will get to experience firsthand and so many other activities detailed on the department's website, and for the price of $75, the young cadets will not only gain invaluable knowledge but also receive lunches, snacks, and an academy T-shirt to carry as a token of their experience. It's worth noting, Euless residents have the luxury of priority access to this day camp, but spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, encouraging those interested to act swiftly to secure a spot for this transformative experience.

Parents keen on enrolling their children can gather more information and access the application process by visiting the Fire Department website, or for a more personal touch, they can direct their inquiries via email to James Knighton at [email protected]; the department is keen to aid any future heroes in making their first steps into a life of service and community duty.
