In a recent gathering that resonated with communal pride, the Fayetteville City Council took a moment to laud the accomplishments of the local law enforcement officers. Last Thursday, June 5, the council meeting featured a recognition ceremony for several members of the Fayetteville Police Department for their academic and professional strides in the force. Among those honored were Sergeant Zach Campbell, Captain Mike Francis, and Sergeant Dylan Bell, who recently completed a rigorous program at Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command.
The commendations did not end there; a collection of officers newly minted from the Fayette County Sheriff's Regional Training Academy also received acknowledgment. Officers Jeremiah Johnson, Seth Edgar, and Kameron Gay, graduated from the inaugural class of the academy, marking a milestone in local law enforcement training. According to an announcement by the Fayetteville government, these officers represent the growing expertise and readiness of the police force to serve the community with heightened skill and knowledge.
The police department is moving forward with plans to train more officers. Nikki Gravante, Caleb McDonal, and Destiny Lankford will soon begin specialized training at the academy.
