Two individuals were arrested in North Hills during a raid conducted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents on Friday, marking an escalation in federal efforts to dismantle what officials describe as a human smuggling hub with ties to national security threats. According to NBC Los Angeles, the operation was led by CBP's Special Response Team in the 16000 block of Napa Street. CBP has stated that intelligence links the address to a smuggling network known for trafficking individuals from adversary regimes, including Iran.

In a related incident earlier in the week, seven Iranian nationals, allegedly associated with an Iranian human trafficking network and including some on the FBI's Terror Watchlist, were taken into custody at the same location. "This location has been used repeatedly to harbor illegal entrants, including foreign nationals linked to terrorism and flagged on the FBI's Terrorist Watchlist," CBP Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham said in a statement. The arrests took place amid heightened tensions following U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, as reported by ABC7.

A video from the scene released by CBP showed agents leading a handcuffed suspect into a vehicle, which was part of an operation that included support from Border Patrol tactical units and Air and Marine Operations. Further coverage by FOX 11 detailed the earlier incident involving the seven Iranian nationals and highlighted the concern that the address was used frequently by individuals linked to international terrorism.

Local residents expressed their unease following the revelation of the home's alleged use as a hub for illicit activities. Neighbor Claudio Bonoli told CBS News, "There was a bunch of young people and they would hang out at night, pacing on the phone, sitting on the curb. Talking to my neighbors, they say they were kind of intimidated by them." The identity of the two individuals arrested in the latest operation has not been disclosed by officials.
