A recent kidnapping incident in Fontana has led to the arrest of three individuals and the urgent search for a fourth suspect still at large. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department announced the arrests of Erick Garcia-Hernandez, Ashley Lopez-Cedano, and Agustin Garcia-Lopez for their alleged involvement in the June 10 armed kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery that occurred on the 13600 block of Arrow Route.
According to the Sheriff’s Department's report, the suspects have been linked to a scheme that targeted a local marijuana dispensary employee. An adult and a juvenile, whose identities remain confidential, were victims of these heinous acts. The juvenile managed to escape from a moving vehicle, sustaining serious injuries, while the adult was subjected to physical assault and held for ransom in the San Bernardino National Forest.
The case, led by officers at the Fontana Sheriff's Station, saw swift action with the apprehension of the three suspects. However, David Colton, a 22-year-old resident of San Bernardino, believed to be involved, remains at large with suspicions that he has fled the country. An official felony warrant is in place for his arrest, as investigators appeal to the public for assistance in locating him.
Described as a complex web of criminal activities, these arrests shine a light on what may be a series of kidnappings for ransom. "Investigators believe these suspects are responsible for additional kidnappings for ransom," the Sheriff’s Department stated. With a growing concern that there might be more victims, law enforcement officials have released photographs of the suspects and their vehicles, urging anyone with information or individuals who may have fallen prey to these suspects to come forward and contact the Fontana Sheriff's Station at 909-356-6710 or We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
As this investigation unfolds, the Sheriff-Coroner's Department emphasizes the significance of community assistance in these cases. They hope that the release of the suspects' photos will not only aid in the capture of the fourth suspect but also provide closure and justice for any additional victims that have endured similar harrowing experiences.
