
Former professional mixed martial artist Jay Dee "BJ" Penn was taken into custody by Hawai‘i Island police for reportedly breaking the conditions of a temporary restraining order. This incident, according to the Hawaii Police Department reports, occurred in the Hilo area on Thursday morning.
Penn, aged 46, allegedly stepped foot inside a residence on Pu‘u‘eo Street, directly contravening the legal boundaries stipulated by the restraining order. Having responded to a report at approximately 11:15 a.m. on June 12, law enforcement officials quickly pinpointed Penn's whereabouts and detained him without resistance, according to the information provided by the Hawaii Police Department.
After the arrest, Penn was taken to the Hilo Police Station, processed, and released on $3,000 bail. His first court appearance is set for 11:30 a.m. the day after his release.
