The Fort Worth Police Department has issued a public appeal for assistance in locating a missing 86-year-old woman, Loretta Lewis Thomas, who has been diagnosed with dementia. Thomas was last observed on the 2800 block of Moresby Street at around 4 p.m. last Saturday. Her disappearance raises concerns due to her medical condition, which may leave her lost and confused, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Thomas is described as a Black female, approximately 5'6", weighing 153 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jean capris, a black shirt, and flip-flops. The FWPD has entered her information into both TCIC and NCIC databases to help in the search efforts. The police are urging anyone with information about Thomas’ whereabouts to contact them at 817-392-4222, referencing case #22-0047195.
The urgency of finding Thomas is underscored by her vulnerability due to dementia, a condition that affects memory and cognitive abilities, making it especially dangerous for individuals who go missing. The FWPD has not released further details on the circumstances surrounding her disappearance but has emphasized the need for the community's help.
