The Germantown Police Department has reported a string of crimes and incidents occurring between May 30 and June 12, detailing arrests for narcotic possession and theft, as well as reports of compromised personal information and property damage. According to Germantown's official news release, these occurrences highlight the diverse nature of law enforcement activities in the suburban area.
On one hand, officials made several arrests for narcotics possession, including one on Sunday, June 1, at 2:48 a.m. in the 7700 block of Wolf River Boulevard, and another later that day at 10:05 p.m. in the 7900 block of Poplar Avenue. On the other hand, the report highlights a concerning pattern of vehicle break-ins—often occurring multiple times in the same area—with nothing stolen. These incidents were particularly concentrated on the morning of Tuesday, June 3, across several blocks from Silverbark Drive to Rocky Hollow Road.
In addition to drug-related offenses, the police department’s roundup included reports of employee theft, unauthorized credit card use, compromised personal information, and threatening messages sent via text and social media. For instance, on May 30, a business in the 9100 block of Poplar Avenue reported an employee had stolen funds, highlighting ongoing concerns among local proprietors, as detailed by the City of Germantown. And on June 5, a resident on Wynterhall Drive reported that their identifying information had been compromised.
In addition to drug-related offenses, arrests were also made for crimes such as evading police, possession of a stolen vehicle, retail theft, and one incident involving a suspect intentionally striking an officer. One such retail theft arrest occurred on Monday, June 2, at 1:50 p.m. in the 7700 block of Farmington Boulevard, reflecting law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to combat shoplifting. The GPD also responded to multiple reports of threatening behavior during the two weeks covered in the press release, underscoring their broader commitment to public safety.
The release also noted that there were a total of 31 crashes during the reported period. The full breakdown of the week's police activity is available on the Germantown official news page.
