
Yesterday, Governor Greg Abbott announced the appointment of Nadia Stewart to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, a role she will hold through February 1, 2029. The Board is tasked with overseeing the licensure, examination, and rulemaking for professional counselors in the state.
A partner at the law firm Stewart and Gretch, PLLC, Stewart brings an extensive legal background to the Board. She's recognized for her work within the Williamson County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Texas Pro Bono College, and holds board membership with ARAG Legal. Serving in the Round Rock area, her commitment to the community extends to volunteering with organizations, like the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, Volunteer Legal Services, and Hope Alliance, with an apparent passion for service.
According to the press release by Governor Abbott's office, Stewart's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from California State University San Marcos and a Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law, previously known as Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
