The Holyoke Police Department, in a robust collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, has recently engaged in an extensive undercover crackdown on open-air drug distribution in the city. As reported by the Holyoke Police on their social media, the operation culminated this past Tuesday, leading to multiple arrests and significant seizures of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine.
According to Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan, members of the Holyoke Police Narcotics Vice Unit, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), FBI western Massachusetts Gang Task Force, Hampden County Sheriff's Department, Hampden County Narcotics Task Force, Massachusetts State Police, and Hampden District Attorney’s SAFE Unit coordinated efforts to target drug activities. Chief Keenan described observations of drug transactions on 164 Sargeant Street, which resulted in the arrest of Christian Lorenzo and the recovery of various narcotics and cash. the Holyoke Police Department reported.
Subsequent policing maneuvers led to further arrests in different locations. In the North Canal Street area, Tristan O’Guinn was apprehended behind the wheel of an unregistered vehicle, and an outstanding warrant warranted his arrest. Another sweep in the proximity of South Canal Street and Hamilton Street saw Ammon Kislus, wanted on multiple counts, placed into custody while also relinquishing modest quantities of heroin and cocaine.
Situations continued to unfold, with two individuals being collared for trespassing in a prohibited building at 109-111 Newton Street. It is where Carlos Rivera and Chelsea McCarty were observed engaging in an apparent drug deal, leading to their subsequent arrest and an assorted confiscation of controlled substances and currency. In the end, these law enforcement efforts have yielded five arrests, with charges including distribution and possession of Class A and Class B drugs, conspiracy to violate drug law, arrest warrants, and trespassing, as detailed in the post from the Holyoke Police Department.
