
On a late evening in Punalu'u, disaster struck as two vehicles collided with enough force to leave one flipped on its roof, trapping four individuals inside. According to a statement released by the Honolulu Fire Department, this serious accident occurred near the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Puhuli Street, prompting an immediate emergency response.
The 911 call was logged at 8:55 p.m. last Tuesday, and within minutes, HFD had dispatched 6 units, which included a team of 16 responders. As they arrived at 9:02 p.m., they found that one person had already self-extricated from the wreckage.
With the immediate danger abated, the HFD transferred command to the Honolulu Police Department for further investigation. The exact cause of the collision is not mentioned, nor are the conditions of the occupants after their hospital handovers.
