Rainfall could reach up to half an inch. Tonight, the chance of showers drops to 30% before 7 p.m., with a low around 77°F and continued southeast winds, according to the National Weather Service.
Houston’s weather will turn hotter and drier later this week. On Thursday, it will be mostly sunny with a high near 91°F and light southeast winds. On Friday, temperatures will rise to around 93°F with widespread haze during the day and night. CW39 reports a chance of severe weather and possible flooding on Friday afternoon. Over the weekend, inland temperatures may reach near 100°F, with heat indices even higher. Nighttime temperatures will stay warm, ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s.
With extreme heat and hurricane season approaching, Houstonians are advised to take safety precautions. CW39 states, “Whether you’re working, exercising, or attending outdoor events—heat safety is essential,” and recommends staying hydrated, taking breaks, and wearing light clothing. The Official 2025 Hurricane Guide urges residents to prepare for storms, especially storm surges, noting that “The greatest potential for loss of life related to a hurricane is from the storm surge.”
