Upon responding to a call at approximately 6:05 a.m. about a "man down," officers discovered the body and a canopy was later requested to cover it. Despite initial speculation, the cause of death remains uncertain, and authorities have not confirmed whether the case is being treated as a homicide. Further details emerged from ABC7, stating the man displayed head wounds and was bleeding upon discovery. Initially believed to have been a possible shooting or blunt force trauma victim, authorities later conjectured that the man, who appeared to have been sleeping on the ground, might have been run over by a vehicle. The driver allegedly fled the scene following the incident.
Adding to this narrative, a KTLA report indicated that the victim, a transient with blood on his face, was found at the site. "The victim is a male transient who had blood on his face," Officer Madison said in a statement obtained by KTLA. As in other reports, the identity of the man has not been made public. Video from the Citizen App showed the police cordoning off the area and erecting a white tent over the crime scene. Despite the early arrival of homicide investigators, the incident has not been immediately ruled as a homicide.
