The City of Woodbury will soon have a new face at the helm of its municipal operations, as the City Council has officially selected Jeffrey Dahl as the incoming City Administrator. In a statement released on the city's website, the council shared the culmination of a rigorous nationwide search conducted by Baker Tilly that placed Dahl as the top contender in a field of experienced candidates.

"I'm excited to welcome Jeffrey to the City of Woodbury team!" Woodbury Mayor Anne Burt expressed, as stated by the City of Woodbury. This choice follows an intensive evaluation period, where Dahl, among others, underwent a series of interviews orchestrated at the close of May involving interactions with the City Council, staff, and community stakeholders. Burt added, "As a resident of Woodbury and former Community Development team member with the city, Jeffrey knows Woodbury well. He is a strategic thinker, with the ability to connect well with others, and will be an asset to our community in this new role."

Dahl comes to the position backed by a solid 20-year career in local government management. He is transitioning from his role as City Manager and HRA Executive Director for the City of Wayzata, a post he's occupied since 2016. Dahl's resume includes tenures as Assistant City Administrator and Economic Development Director at the City of Chaska, and roles at the City of Osseo. His journey in civic service germinated in Woodbury back in 2005 as a Community Development Intern. His academic credentials, obtained from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, include an M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on Urban Studies/Planning and a B.A. in International Relations.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to work for such a strong organization in the city I call home," said Dahl, regarding his selection and the prospects ahead in Woodbury. "The City of Woodbury has great staff who care about the community and offer excellent service and connection to the residents of Woodbury. I look forward to working with staff and the City Council to build upon this commitment to be a premier community where everyone can live, work, and thrive," the City of Woodbury notes.

His term is slated to begin on July 28, contingent upon the City Council formally approving his contract at the forthcoming June 11 City Council meeting. This administrative torch-passing comes as the city bids farewell to the retiring Clint Gridley, who leaves behind a legacy of 21 years of service to the community of Woodbury.
