A man is fighting for his life in critical condition following a Sunday afternoon shooting in Kalamazoo, authorities report. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) responded to the incident, which was triggered by an altercation between two groups, around 1:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Fox Ridge Drive, as reported by WZZM13.
Upon arrival, officers found the 24-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains in critical but stable condition, as stated by WOODTV. In the aftermath of the shooting on West Michigan Avenue, a 19-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and is facing several charges, including assault with intent to murder and possession of a stolen firearm.
Additional arrests included another 19-year-old man, held for probation violation; and a 25-year-old woman, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, according to the KDPS. This information aligns with findings from the FOX17 report, which also confirmed the recovery of two firearms as part of the ongoing investigation.
