The changes affect regulations for accessory dwelling units, parking, and review processes across various density zones. The Council also adopted a revised fee schedule for Transportation Impact Fees, reflecting updates to infrastructure cost allocations.
According to the City of Kirkland website, during the meeting, EvergreenHealth CEO Dr. Ettore Palazzo presented a "State of Healthcare" overview, outlining the current healthcare environment in the area. The Mayor issued proclamations recognizing National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Pride Month, and Ride Transit Month.
In a study session held before the formal meeting, Council members discussed a planned Transit Needs Study and considered a proposal to add a dedicated bike lane along Central Way and near Peter Kirk Park.
