Outdoor enthusiasts take note: the Lagerman Agricultural Preserve is set for a significant makeover, prompting its closure from July 14 to December 31. Boulder County officials announced that, while the Open Sky Loop remains open to the public, those looking to enjoy the larger Lagerman Trail or use the parking lot will have to find alternative plans. For visitors arriving by car, Pike Rd will offer limited parking spaces during the construction period.
The array of improvements designed to enhance the user experience at Lagerman Agricultural Preserve includes changes aimed at simplifying navigation and ensuring greater accessibility. According to Boulder County, the parking lot will be redesigned to feature directional traffic flow and increased space for trailers to easily turn. Additionally, equestrians will find the number of horse trailer spots expanded from their current count to a total of six.
Accessibility enhancements are also at the forefront of the upgrades. Concrete upgrades are set to be made to two ADA parking spaces, both of which will now be able to accommodate vans. These improvements are further extended to the construction of an ADA-compliant concrete walkway, which will provide a seamless link between the preserve's restroom and the picnic shelter.
These planned upgrades to the Lagerman Agricultural Preserve highlight Boulder County's commitment to ensuring that the natural spaces they oversee continue to be accessible and enjoyable for all members of the community. With the Open Sky Loop still available, locals will not have to completely forego the preserve's charms, but should prepare to quickly adapt to the temporary changes, especially concerning parking, which will become considerably more limited due to the closure of the main lot. Patrons eagerly awaiting the refreshed amenities can look forward to a more optimized and inclusive environment upon completion of the construction at year's end.
