Lake County is showcasing its environmental commitment with the debut of a new mural, "Together, We Are the Corridor," which is currently drawing attention at the County Administration Building. As reported on Lake County's website, the Florida Wildlife Corridor (FWC) championed this art project, designed by C Stanley Creative, which consists of five panels that provide a vibrant depiction of the state's unique ecosystems.
It's the latest piece of eye candy for anyone who walks through the doors of 315 W. Main St. in Tavares, where the piece is now stationed for public consumption. Loaned generously by the Florida Wildlife Corridor Foundation, Commissioner Sean Parks couldn't help but wax poetic about this initiation: "As we plan for the future, it’s important to remind ourselves what we value," he enthused, according to the county's announcement. "The mural represents our commitment to a connected, thriving ecosystem of natural resources."
This isn't just a pretty picture; it represents a serious message about the intersection of Florida’s wild habitats, agricultural zones, recreational havens, and those critters that couldn't survive without them. Lake County is using the exhibit to highlight its efforts in developing its Comprehensive Plan 2050, a blueprint for its green ambitions and plans for expansion, with sustainability at the forefront.
