A significant quantity of methamphetamine along with other illegal substances were confiscated by the Lancaster County Multijurisdictional Narcotics Task Force, resulting in the arrest of a 27-year-old man identified as Lonnie Rojohn Crawford, Jr. In a sweeping climax to a year-long covert operation, Crawford was apprehended on a Wednesday following controlled purchases and extensive investigations, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office SC reported.

Throughout the previous year, task force investigators successfully conducted four controlled buys of suspected methamphetamine, each involving more than ten grams—quantities indicative of trafficking—from Crawford. Earlier this month, another such purchase was made, amassing the evidence needed to secure a search warrant for Crawford’s residence located on Oakridge Road in Lancaster. Upon executing the search warrant, Crawford was found present with an adult woman and a young child, neither of whom were charged in the raid.

Digging deeper into the household, the officers discovered a stash exceeding three pounds of suspected methamphetamine and additional narcotics including 11.95 grams of fentanyl, nearly three ounces of crack cocaine, and 28.4 grams of marijuana. Associated with the drug trade, investigators also found firearms – three pistols, to be precise – along with drug paraphernalia such as digital scales and vacuum bags commonly used in narcotics packaging.

Crawford now faces a deluge of charges including five counts of trafficking methamphetamine ranging from 10 to 28 grams, one count for trafficking over 400 grams, trafficking 4 to 14 grams of fentanyl, trafficking crack cocaine between 28 to 100 grams, along with charges related to the distribution and intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, tallying six counts. His bond was denied by a magistrate the following afternoon of his apprehension.

"Evidence gathered during this investigation tells us lots of narcotics were passing through Crawford’s hands and being distributed in our community," stated Sheriff Barry Faile. The sheriff commended the collaborative efforts between task force investigators, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) that led to Crawford's capture and the seizure of the narcotics. The investigation's timing was praised as "spot on," effectively removing a significant amount of drugs from potential street circulation.
