The Los Angeles Police Department is actively seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect connected to a fatal hit-and-run incident at a gas station that resulted in a man's death. The hit-and-run occurred on June 17, 2025, at approximately 5:10 a.m. when a man was struck by a dark-colored Hummer EV SUV at a gas station located at the intersection of Roscoe Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
According to a press release by the LAPD, the vehicle responsible did not stop to provide aid, nor did it identify itself, both of which are legal requirements in the event of a collision. The SUV, identified by its distinct set of roof "cab lights" and a front light bar, was last seen escaping northbound on Pendleton Street from Roscoe Boulevard. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The LAPD's Valley Traffic Division has released a video of the incident on their website to help in their appeal for witnesses or anyone who possesses information regarding the collision to come forward. Notably, a financial incentive has been set in place. A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the individual responsible for this crime.
This reward stems from an amendment passed on April 15, 2015, that created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund, as stated in a news release from the LAPD. Those who wish to provide information should contact Officer Gallo at (818) 644-8119 or Detective II Barragan at (818) 644-8028. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or via their website.
