Authorities in Los Angeles continue their hunt for a suspect linked to a pair of motorcycle thefts in West Los Angeles and Westwood last month, with the LAPD calling on the public to aid their efforts. In a news release from CBS News Los Angeles, the first motorcycle was reported stolen on May 12 from a secured parking garage in the 11000 block of Mississippi Avenue and then, just a short while later on May 18, a similar theft occurred at another secured garage on the 10000 block of Rochester Avenue.
The suspect, a Black man believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was last seen donning a helmet and a jacket distinct in its tan and black design with stripes, pairing these with camo shorts and black pants beneath, as reported by KTLA. Standing around six feet tall and weighing roughly 190 pounds, he completed his attire with black shoes, black gloves and a blue-and-gray Jansport Goshawk 40L hiking backpack in what appears to be a consistent look alluding to a signature style, which also renders him recognizable to the observant eye.
Detailed observations have been released by the LAPD in an attempt to capture the man responsible for these incidents, with detectives underscoring the urgency of the situation. Anyone with useful information about the suspect or the thefts is being encouraged to reach out to Officer Jacqueline Portillo at 310-444-1502 during office hours, or 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247) during non-business hours or weekends, per details shared by Los Angeles Police Department's official website.
