Get ready for a bit of a slowdown if you're cruising down the Strip in Vegas. Starting June 16, a major facelift begins on Las Vegas Boulevard, stretching from Russell Road to Tropicana Avenue. According to the Clark County officials, the Las Vegas Blvd Project Phase C & D means two years of construction work, with a $60 million tag. Plans include replacing a waterline for the Las Vegas Valley Water District and sprucing up the road with new surfacing, traffic signal tweaks, lighting, power enhancements, and new safety bollards.
Motorists should brace themselves for periodic lane and intersection closures. Clark County's website will serve as an update hub, dishing out the latest on traffic changes. There'll be overnight lane reductions on southbound Las Vegas Boulevard beginning right on June 16. They're slated for a Monday through Thursday, from midnight to 9 a.m., and on Friday, the crew wraps up an hour earlier at 8 a.m.
The Clark County suggests using a navigation app like Waze, Google Maps, or Apple Maps to stay updated and avoid traffic. And if you spot digital message boards while driving the Strip, take a look—they're there to warn you about upcoming changes.
