As temperatures climb and the hum of summer activity fills the air, so does the increase in door-to-door solicitors in League City. In an effort to ensure residents are well-informed, the League City Police Department has issued a reminder concerning the protocols these roaming marketers should adhere to, according to an announcement on the League City official website.
Key points for locals to remember included the requirement for solicitors to carry a permit, and this permit must be hitched to an official City of League City Government solicitor identification card—no exceptions, moreover, homeowners brandishing "No Soliciting" signs have the law on their side, these signs, when posted visibly, give residents the authority to keep solicitors at bay, enforcing their wish not to be disturbed. If a resident feels the need to end an unsolicited visit, they hold the right to ask the solicitor to leave immediately.
In instances where these regulations are flouted, or suspicions arise regarding the legitimacy of a solicitor’s intent, the League City Police Department encourages people to take action. Residents are advised to report any violators to the LCPD using the non-emergency number provided in the announcement: 281-332-2566.
