A Lincoln County resident, Zackery Ryan Gardner, 30, has been apprehended and faces charges after allegedly shooting at his neighbors' homes from within his own domicile, as reported by local authorities. According to the QC News, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received calls yesterday about a man discharging firearms at two residences on English Oak Drive situated off Lee Lawing Road and NC Highway 150.
Responding to the situation, deputies arrested Gardner on site and later executed a search warrant at his property whereby multiple firearms along with ammunition were found and subsequently seized; this event occurred in a neighborhood that now reels from the shock of one house being stricken by several rounds while people were present inside both residences, however, no injuries were reported from the incident as confirmed by WCNC.
Gardner has been charged with 10 felony counts of Shooting into an Occupied Property, with each count representing a separate shot taken at houses, each occupied at the time, an issue which brings a magnitude of seriousness upon Gardner's actions and suggests a possible underlying disturbance that prompted such reckless endangerment. He is being detained at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center, being held without the option for bail, as stated by WCCB Charlotte.
The neighborhood now is hushed with an unease, a tension settling over English Oak Drive like a heavy fog that veils the sun after the county processed the chilling event not unaware that bullets might weave their wanton paths through timber and drywall and find cradles in flesh and blood, whereas Gardner is set to appear in Lincoln County District Court come tomorrow.
