
Seattle Police responded to a shooting incident in the south part of the city where a 41-year-old man was injured. The shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. near the 2700 block of South Hanford Street. Officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg and gave first aid, including a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Seattle Fire Department personnel provided medical support and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center. His wound was stable and not life-threatening. The shooting began after an argument over the victim's phone cord at a nearby homeless encampment, as reported by the Seattle Police Department.
Officers searched for the adult male suspect but did not find him. Detectives from the Homicide & Assault Unit are leading the investigation. The crime scene was processed, and evidence was collected. The police are asking the public for help. "If anyone has information, they are asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. They can remain anonymous," as stated by the Seattle Police Department.
