Maui Bus routes will be adjusted this weekend due to the Nā Kamehameha Pa’u Parade on Saturday. According to the County of Maui, buses that normally operate on Kaahumanu Avenue will be rerouted to accommodate road closures, and some stops will be suspended for the day.

The County of Maui Department of Transportation has outlined several adjustments to its service. Specifically, Kahului Loop Route #5 is set to eliminate the 9:35 a.m., 10:35 a.m., and 11:35 a.m. stops at Wahinepio Avenue/Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Roselani Place, and South Papa Avenue/Kea Street from the Kahului Transit Center. Meanwhile, its inverse service, the Kahului Reverse Loop Route #6 will also skip stops at 9:38 a.m., 10:38 a.m., and 11:38 a.m. on the aforementioned streets, but will continue to operate to and from the Kahului Transit Center.

The Wailuku Loop Route #1 won't be stopping at Maui Memorial Medical Center and Maui Lani Parkway at 9:36 a.m., 10:36 a.m., and 11:36 a.m. Additionally, the 9:16 a.m., 10:16 a.m., and 11:16 a.m. Kanaloa Avenue stops will be missed. This change also extends to the Wailuku Reverse Loop Route #2, with no pick-ups being made at the Kanaloa Avenue stops at 9:05 a.m., 10:05 a.m., and 11:05 a.m.

For the remainder of Maui Bus operations, services will continue as usual but may deviate slightly from their routes to maintain service to existing stops. Passengers traveling during this time should anticipate delays due to increased traffic associated with the parade. The County of Maui and Roberts Hawaii, operators of Maui Bus, advise passengers to expect schedule changes.
