A motor vehicle theft that began at 1908 South Lauderdale Street has led to subsequent burglaries involving the stolen car, sparking concerns within the community. According to the Memphis Police Department, the incident unfolded on June 24, at 6:30 p.m., when a victim's 2007 Infiniti M35 was stolen from the front of Rosewood Market while left running during a brief store visit. The victim's attempt to reclaim the vehicle turned hazardous as he was dragged into the street when the suspect reversed the car and made off with it.

Escalating the offense, the victim's car was later implicated in two burglaries, one at 1336 Poplar Avenue and another at 2477 Summer Avenue. These break-ins were recorded by Memphis Police under report reference numbers 2506029343ME and 2506029342ME, respectively. While holding onto the driver's side door during the theft, the victim suffered the indignity and peril of being dragged out onto the street.

The Memphis Police are now urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to an arrest. Offering a semblance of anonymity and a potential reward, the department encourages potential witnesses or informants to contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
