Step into your sneakers and join Mesquite's National Trails Day celebration with "Walking for Wellness" this Saturday. According to an announcement from the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department, the event will run from 8 to 10 a.m. at Valley Creek Park, located at 2482 Pioneer Road. This free initiative is part of Mayor Dan Alemán's Get Fit Mesquite campaign, aiming to steer residents toward healthier lifestyles and an appreciation for the city's natural settings.
Young and old, along with their furry friends, are encouraged to partake in the event. While taking in the beauty of the park, participants will navigate various fitness challenges along the trail. The more laps they finish, noted the City of Mesquite, the higher the chances of snagging prizes, available until they run out.
For those looking to stay refreshed, hydration is a squeeze of a water bottle away with available pet and participant-friendly water stations. Comfort reigns supreme during the walk, as event-goers are advised to don comfortable gear.
