Milton residents looking forward to improvements in their local parks will have a chance to get in the loop this month. The City is hosting an 'Open House' on June 26 to discuss upcoming enhancements to the Milton City Park and Preserve and Legacy Park.
The event, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Community Center in Milton City Park and Preserve, is designed to be an informative session where any community member can pop in, the meeting will offer visuals and one-on-one discussion opportunities for people to voice their concerns, and ask questions about reconfigurations and upgrades planned for the parks. This comes following a statement from the city's government website, mentioning a new drainage system and playground, additional lighting, along with two new tennis courts bumping the total to six at the Milton City Park and Preserve, among other changes.
The revamps at Legacy Park, which is nestled off Cox Road, will include more parking spots and a new system for stormwater, enhanced seating for onlookers, and a memorial wall to honor legacies past. These changes are part of a dual upgrade involving both parks, with the same contractor helming the construction efforts expected to commence later this year.
Scott Tkach, City Engineer, will be leading off the 'Open House' with an update on the projects, this will be a starting point for residents to engage with the planning and implementation process behind the improvements, folks dropping in will also find that the session is open to untimed stays within the two-hour window—making it convenient for those who have busy schedules. For residents unable to attend, inquiries can be directed to Tkach at his email, [email protected], providing a direct line of communication for further questions or input on the projects.
