On Friday, a Milwaukee County judge sentenced 30-year-old Damien Huff to life in prison for a series of armed robberies, including a fatal incident at a North Shore Bank that resulted in the death of armored truck guard Scott Bee in July 2023. As reported by FOX6 News, Huff was found guilty of all charges on April 16, with prosecutors identifying him as the gunman in the bank robbery.
During that robbery, surveillance footage showed a man, later identified as Huff, near the bank's drive-thru as gunshots were heard. The suspect was seen fleeing with nearly $70,000, although some cash was dropped during his escape. The sequence of events tragically ended the life of Bee, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds and passed away 12 days later. This information has been corroborated by CBS 58, which also covered the emotional impact statement from Bee's daughter, Apryl Kitchen, during Huff's sentencing hearing. "You took a life, you took my dad, my best friend," Kitchen was quoted as saying, elaborating on the void left by her father's untimely passing.
The fatal robbery was apparently not an isolated incident. Huff, according to details from Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, had a history of robbing Walgreens stores, employing a strategy of threatening staff with a pistol to steal prescription drugs. The shift in tactics to target an armored truck, however, resulted in a devastating outcome.
Huff's accomplice, Colby Pashawn Logan, who served as the getaway driver during the bank robbery, was sentenced earlier to 25 years in prison. The series of crimes ultimately culminated in a courtroom reckoning that, per Bee's daughter’s testimony, acknowledged not just the loss of her father but also the enduring trauma such violent acts impress upon the victims' families.
